Circumscript Retractor Muscles: A retractor muscle which is strongly concentrated, and there is only one mesogleal lamella (or a few main lamellae close to each other) issuing from the main lamella of the mesentery (Carlgren, 1949; p. 8). In cross-section, appears like narrow, strongly raised band, sharply marked off at the edge from the general surface of the mesentery.
